Discovered by chance, a variation in the plants happened to catch someone's eye now a unique variety delivering on taste, yield and density. Thanks to lab analysis in London we know this variation shares its DNA with Ethiopian Bourbons. — trees unlike any others in the region — led to Bourbon Aruzi. Javier Quintero’s washed lot reveals its purity: lime-bright acidity, florals, and raw cacao depth. 

→ The process:

Grown in volcanic ash–rich soils, Javier only harvests the coffee with uncompromising attention to ripeness, ensuring only the finest cherries are selected. A 30-hour underwater fermentation unlocks remarkable depth, allowing the coffee to evolve on the palate and reveal new layers with every sip. The parchment is then gently washed and carefully dried under temperature-controlled conditions, preserving clarity and balance until the ideal moisture content is reached.

A charming farm sitting between 1700 - 1800 m.a.s.l. in the misty hills of Cauca, Colombia. The region boasts a rich history for exquisite coffee and at Buena Vista, they are delivering coffee without compromise. Quintero & everyone at the farm are honouring the region and the coffee with masterful producing. Javier dedication to developing and perfecting this once unknown variety is testament to the care and innovation to the coffee industry.
